Giuseppe Ciraso Cali

St. Jean-Baptiste Church

Born in Italy, Giuseppe is a refined and versatile freelance double bassist. He has trained near his hometown in Italy with Gergely Járdányi and in Vienna with Botond Kostyák, Herbert Mayr and Patxi Montero for the historical double bass.

In 2015 he was part of Southbank Sinfonia, a great experience that brought him to London where he is currently based. Beside having spent quite some time on stage at the National Theatre in London with the award-winning production of Amadeus, he has recently performed with the Royal Ballet Sinfonia and Philharmonia Orchestra.

He also enjoys a variety of different engagements, expanding from fringe opera productions to early and new music.

Giuseppe regularly performs chamber music with London based groups, both on modern and early instruments and is a founding member of the violin and double bass duo Gamma Ensemble
