Young Musicians' Day

Thursday July 22nd 2010 - 10.30hr

Salle des Fêtes Aujols

Guest Teachers:

The Young Musicians’ Day was so popular last year that we have decided to make it a regular feature of the festival bringing together young musicians and international professionals to explore music in both rehearsal and performance.

The students arrive in Aujols at 10.30 am and work individually and collectively with some of the festival musicians on their selected musical pieces from 11.00 to 13.00.

Young Musicians' Concert

After lunch, which is provided, they continue their musical workshops and also plan and prepare for the evening’s concert.

All the players will be encouraged to take part in the public performance that starts at 20.30 in the Eglise St.Jean-Baptiste, the site of all the concerts for the entire festival.

Pre-concert supper will also be provided for all young musicians taking part in the day’s programme.

Woodwind features this year particularly highly as we have the great flute player Anna Noakes with us as well as one of the most respected flute teachers in the UK, Julie Murray.

The superb violinist, Belinda McFarlane and the brilliant pianist John Alley (both from the world famous London Symphony Orchestra) are also with us and so is the expert Cellist (and Suzuki Method Teacher) Matthew Lee (co-principal cello in the BBC Concert Orchestra).

We would encourage any local musicians or simply young players who are visiting the region to come along and experience this day.

For further information please Contact Us. To attend this musical day you will have to fill in the subscription form; this, together with the payment of 30€ (to include all tutoring, lunch and pre-concert super), needs to reach us by July 10th.
